rench Run - A skill game made with LEGO® NXT by Rodolfo Zarli
More than 500 pieces
More than 4 hr. building time
More than 50 hr. programming
I'm proud to present my communication libraries between Unity3D© and LEGO® Mindstorm NXT written in C# . Worldwide only two tried this: the first one abandoned and the second reached the goal with a program on NXT, a Java program on PC and finally Unity3d©.
My libraries work with Unity3d© stand-alone, and without any software on NXT in a non-blocking way for smoother animation.
Features:
- USB and Bluetooth support
- full control on NXT output and input (motors and sensors)
- extra info (NXT name, sleep...)
Demo works with a NXT with Bluetooth connection:
- Output/input A: motor (spaceship X-axis)
- Output/input B: motor (spaceship Y-axis)
- Output C: PF medium motor with adapter cable (coin machine open/close)
- Input 1: RCX light sensor with adapter cable (coin check)
When the game boots (calibration):
- closes coin machine (timed output)
- please put the ship in upper left corner and press fire (=reset A and B tachocounter)
- please put the ship in lower right corner (=saves A and B tachocounter)
- opens coin machine (timed output)
- checks for the coin
During game:
- closes coin machine
- gets input from joystick
- moves the spaceship (x/y) checking for bounduaries
- calculates game coordinates (x,y)
- reacts to fire button
Demo Trench Run Instructions:
- Insert coin (free offer from 0,10€ to 2,00€)
- Move the spaceship inside crosses with joystick
- Fire with button 1
- Fire from green crosses for higher score
- When the cross becomes red, you are hit
Final run:
- When the text "Use the force" appears HOLD fire!
- Fire exactly when "Fire" appears for bonus score
