Es gibt die ersten Screenshots für LEGO Universe. 2010 soll es los gehen - erstmal in Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, England und Nord Amerika.

The first screenshots for LEGO Universe make their world premiere this week. These images show off the diversity the players will encounter in the game. It’s scheduled to launch in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, and North America in 2010.

Safety is a huge priority for LEGO Universe. Many solutions are being explored through technology, processes, and people to provide the most creative and safe environment possible.

Of course since it is a LEGO product, one can expect a creative and building focus to give players the opportunity to do a variety of activities that allow for them to interact with the LEGO elements in a virtual reality. Building with LEGO elements in LEGO Universe will take many forms, ultimately allowing players to bring their real-life creations to life inside the game.

LEGO Universe will feature a subscription model. Lot’s of research and evaluation of various models went into this decision and we feel it provides the best method to provide a trusted online experience for the player.

We’re sure you wondering about beta and the “VIP launch”. We still plan on doing both, but we are not ready to announce dates or how to sign-up just yet.

Hat irgendwer hier vor, sich das anzusehen? Ich kann mir ja nicht vorstellen, dass ich stundenlang vorm PC sitz und virtuelle MOCs bau, aber das ist vermutlich eh mehr ein Community Spiel oder? Ich hab ehrlich gesagt keine Ahnung worum's dabei gehen soll, aber von den Screenshots her sieht's nach ner Second Life Lego Version aus...

Ist wohl, wie du sagst eine Art Second Life mit ein paar eingebauten Herausforderungen. Wobei ich mir das eh so in etwa immer schon vorgestellt hatte... eigener Avatar, usw. usf...

Weiß ich doch, nur ein Mehrspieler Spiel kann trotzdem so aufgebaut sein, dass man die ganze Zeit alleine rumläuft und die anderen Spieler niedermetzelt, daher meinte ich, dass hier wohl der Community-Aspekt im Vordergrund stehen wird, also chatten und so weiter...eventuell nur gemeinsam lösbare Aufgaben wie bei den Lego Spielen üblich...ich spiel wenn dann halt eigentlich nur Einzelspieler offline Spiele...also definitiv nix für mich.

Ich bin auch eher als Einzelspieler offline unterwegs. Das liegt aber auch daran, das ich nicht monatlich Gebühren zahlen will. Und so viel gute MMGs gibts meiner Einschätzung nach auch nicht.

LEGO® UNIVERSE TO LAUNCH OCTOBER 2010

MMOG with Creative and Building Focus Available for Preview at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment E3 Booth, South Hall #2401

BILLUND, DENMARK – JUNE 15, 2010 – The LEGO Group today announced that LEGO® Universe will launch this October in the US, UK and Western Europe. The first MMOG (massively-multiplayer online game) based on the LEGO play experience, LEGO Universe will offer early access to LEGO fans – the “Founders” – starting October 12th, and will officially launch on October 26th.

The Founders release makes LEGO Universe available to LEGO fans before the official launch, with the game sold exclusively through LEGO channels including LEGO Stores, LEGO Online Shop and LEGOLAND. On October 26th, the MMOG will officially launch through all retail channels via a distribution partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Planned for global release, LEGO Universe will be rolled out to additional territories after the initial launch.

E3 visitors are able to preview LEGO Universe in the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall #2401. The new content unveiled at E3 centers on the game’s building and behaviors features, which enable players to create anything they can imagine, and bring it to life with a basic programming language.

“Our vision is to provide LEGO fans of all ages with a whole new quality play experience and creative platform, and LEGO Universe will open up exciting new opportunities for fun and expression this October,” said Henrik Taudorf Lorensen, Vice President, LEGO Digital, the LEGO Group. “The dedicated LEGO fan community has contributed to the development of LEGO Universe since the start of the project, and we show our appreciation with the early Founders release.”

LEGO Universe will be available for PC and Mac, with the Mac version enabled by TransGaming's (TSX-V: TNG) Cider™ Portability Engine.
